Fronlwyd Longhouse is a characterful 400-year-old Welsh home for up to 15 guests, set in the peaceful countryside of Mid Wales. With seven bedrooms, four bathrooms and generous shared spaces, it is made for family gatherings, celebrations and relaxed stays with friends.
The house gives a large group room to be together without feeling crowded. Gather around the dining table for long meals, settle into one of the two living rooms, or find a quiet corner when you need a little time to yourself.
A house for gathering
At the heart of the Longhouse is the generous dining space, where everyone can sit down together. The main kitchen is equipped for group catering, with a large range cooker, plenty of preparation space and the practical equipment needed for cooking throughout your stay.
There are two comfortable living rooms, giving different generations or groups of friends space to relax. One is ideal for gathering together, while the second sitting room offers another place to read, talk, play games or watch television.
Seven bedrooms and four bathrooms
The Longhouse sleeps up to 15 people across seven bedrooms and nine beds. The combination of bedrooms works well for extended families, groups of friends and multi-generational stays.
Four bathrooms help make mornings and evenings easier for a full house. Photographs of the individual bedrooms and bathrooms are included in the gallery so that you can understand the layout before booking.
Private hot tub and outdoor space
Outside, the private wood-fired hot tub is a lovely place to relax after walking in the hills or exploring Mid Wales. The garden and meadow provide room to sit outside, enjoy the views and spend time together.
The outdoor pizza oven is a firm favourite with our guests and turns an evening meal into part of the occasion. There is also outdoor dining space for slower breakfasts, summer lunches and evenings beneath the dark rural sky.
Celebrations and special stays
Birthdays, anniversaries, hen and stag stays are welcome by prior arrangement. We may also be able to accommodate a very small wedding or micro-wedding, depending on your plans.
Please contact us before booking for any celebration or event. Tell us about the occasion, your guest numbers and anything you would like to arrange so that we can confirm whether the Longhouse is suitable.
Explore Mid Wales
Fronlwyd is a peaceful base for discovering the Cambrian Mountains, southern Eryri and the Cardigan Bay coast. There are walks from the surrounding countryside, quiet mountain roads, market towns, wildlife reserves and memorable days out within reach.
Guests receive our personal Local Guide before their stay, filled with the cafés, walks, coast days and places that we genuinely recommend.
Good to know
Parking is provided at Fronlwyd, and a private 7kW electric vehicle charger is available by arrangement. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement; please contact us before booking so that we can confirm the details for your group.
Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am.

Please note that some satnav systems may direct you to a neighbouring farm. Use the postcode SY19 7AS to reach Bontdolgadfan, then follow the directions below.
If your satnav directs you onto a driveway that begins in the centre of the village and runs alongside open fields for about half a mile, you are on the wrong lane. Please turn back, as this leads to a neighbouring farm.
From the bridge in the centre of Bontdolgadfan, head east up the hill. After approximately 200 yards, turn left onto the no-through road. Continue for about 100 yards, then turn left onto a small side road just before the static caravan. You should see our Fronlwyd sign.
Follow the road into the parking area. Please park in the main parking area on the left, beside the EV charger. As you enter the yard, the dome will be on your right behind the trees. The gravel path begins beside the old farming implement.

Welcome to Fronlwyd Escapes.
We’re Adam and Vicky, and we’ve been welcoming guests to our little corner of Mid Wales for over 11 years. What started as the restoration of our 400-year-old Welsh longhouse has grown into a place where families, couples and friends can slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the peace of the Cambrian Mountains.
We live here with our two children, our dogs and Barry the friendly pig, so we’re always nearby if you need anything, while still giving you complete privacy to enjoy your stay.
We love sharing our favourite walks, hidden beauty spots and local recommendations, and we’re always happy to help make your visit special. Whether you’re celebrating with family in the Longhouse or escaping for a romantic break in our luxury dome, we hope you’ll leave with wonderful memories and a desire to return.
We look forward to welcoming you to Fronlwyd.
