Adventure activities

For a faster pace

Mid Wales is not only made for slow days. Bring your bike, take to the water or plan a bigger adventure, then return to Fronlwyd for a soak in the hot tub and a quiet evening beneath the stars.

01

Dyfi Bike Park

Just north of Machynlleth, Dyfi Bike Park offers uplifted mountain trails built into 650 acres of Dyfi Forest. The riding ranges from red to highly technical black routes, so check the trail grades, equipment requirements and booking rules before setting out.

02

Ride the ClimachX

The waymarked ClimachX trail at Ceinws is a demanding red-grade mountain-bike route known for its forest singletrack and memorable final descent. It is a good alternative for confident riders who prefer a self-powered day on the trails.

03

Surf and paddle

Aber Adventures runs surf and stand-up paddleboard experiences around Borth, Ynyslas and the lakes of Mid Wales. Beginners are welcome, with the location chosen to suit the activity and conditions on the day.

04

High ropes and zip lines

Some guests make a longer day of a treetop course, zip line or larger adventure attraction. Go Ape and Zip World locations are farther from Fronlwyd, so compare the current sites, activities and journey before booking.

Activities, opening arrangements and weather conditions can change. Please check suitability, availability and safety requirements directly with each operator before travelling.
