What the numbers mean
Seriously dark skies, in plain English
Fronlwyd sits beneath an estimated Bortle Class 3 sky, with a mapped
sky-quality figure of around 21.86 mag/arcsec². For guests, that
simply means very little artificial glow and far more stars than
most people see at home.
For keen stargazers, these figures point to a rural sky capable of
revealing far fainter detail when conditions are clear.
These are modelled light-pollution readings rather than a promise of
nightly conditions. Moonlight, cloud, haze and local lights all
affect what can be seen.
